In the democratic societies, public authorities must be responsible for their duties and powers. Today, accountability as a public right is an obligation on public authorities and institutions that are responsible to the citizens or institutions that have been represented of them, and pursue the goals that are expected of them. Supervision is a lever that makes the accountability path smooth with its specific executive guarantees. According to the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran The president is a public authority who is responsible to the nation, the leader and the Islamic Consultative Assembly. The judiciary also has the authority to supervise the performance of the president. In this article, we focus first on the definition of accountability, its functions and its malfunction, and, in the second, we outline the kinds of supervisions of the president, and existing ambiguities.
